On the side-lines of the Official Visit of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to the Federal Republic of Germany, the Brunei Darussalam delegation held a discussion with business representatives from the German SME Association (BVMW), comprising companies from the energy, engineering, industrial technology, manufacturing and advanced materials sectors. The meeting which was held in Berlin, focused on opportunities in Brunei Darussalam and the Federal Republic of Germany to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, sustainable industrial development, digital economy, logistics, infrastructure, and advanced technologies. The discussion session reflected the growing interest among German businesses in establishing partnerships and expanding engagement with Brunei, while further strengthening economic relations between both countries. In support of these efforts, a trade visit to Brunei Darussalam is scheduled to take place in August this year.

Brunei Darussalam's delegation was led by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy. The German business delegation was headed by Andreas Jahn from Der Mittelstand as President of BVMW. During the discussion, Brunei Darussalam also welcomed greater participation by German companies in exploring investment and business opportunities in the country.
